Job Description:
SUMMARY
An Assembler works as an effective member of a team to
assemble product in a timely manner according
to work
instructions, engineering drawings, and quality guidelines to produce
quality products. This
position requires the ability to complete
routine operations on a continual basis.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs a specific
step of the manufacturing process as part of a team, according to work
instructions, engineering drawings.
2. Inspects the quality
of the materials and work in process.
3. Produces product in a
timely manner as outlined by department supervision and
management.
4. Operates any equipment, tools, fixtures, etc.
needed to perform the assigned job.
5. Cleans and sterilizes
cells and totes.
6. Keeps aisles and walkways clear of pallets.
7. Organizes and maintains 5S throughout the Converting and
Warehouse areas.
8. Orders supplies from the warehouse and
restock items throughout the Converting area.
9. Performs duties
above at a faster speed on the most difficult products.
10.
Returns kits to the Storeroom and stage in the Returns area.
11.
Cross-trained to work in Surmasis Clean Room.
12. Cuts cores to
various lengths using the Core Cutting machine.
13. Collects
garbage bins throughout the manufacturing area and empty into a
compactor or roll-off
dumpster.
14. Retrieves kits and raw
materials from the Warehouse as needed.
15. Regular and reliable
attendance is an essential function of this job. Punctuality and
regular
attendance are crucial for efficient plant operations,
safety, and morale.
16. Other duties and responsibilities may be
assigned as required.
AUTHORITY
1. Requests necessary supplies and resources
required to complete the jobs assigned.
2. Alerts supervision of
problems with materials, tools, fixtures, machinery, etc.
3.
Suggests improved or alternate methods of assembling product
Experience and Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Able to perform routine tasks on a continuing basis.
2. Able to correctly use required tools, fixtures, machines, etc. involved in the manufacturing process.
3. Able to correctly inspect according to instructions, engineering drawings, and training.
4. Able to recognize quality problems with materials and work in process.
5. Able to complete an inspection step in a timely manner as outlined by leadership.
6. Good work attendance and dependability.
7. Able to communicate and work with others as a team.
8. Train to Surmasis work instructions and processes.
9. If working nights or shifts with minimal supervision, must pass a criminal background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Majority of time spent at a workstation on
a production line as part of a team assembling product. May
need
to operate machinery or use tools and/or fixtures as part of the
assembly process.
